BasketPulse reads your receipts on your device, not in the cloud. We never ask for your bank login or banking credentials. We do not sell your personal purchase history. We do sustain the app by selling anonymized, aggregated market trend statistics that cannot be traced back to you or your household.
If you join the launch list on this website, we collect your email address (and the time you confirmed it) to tell you when BasketPulse is available. We use a double opt-in: you only receive launch news after clicking the confirmation link in the email we send. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Your address is stored in our Firebase (Google Cloud) project, is used only for these launch emails, and is not sold or shared for advertising. The signup form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a visitor is human and may process technical signals such as your IP address under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. This list is separate from your BasketPulse app account (described below).
You sign in to BasketPulse with your Google account. When you do, we store a small account record in our Firebase (Google Cloud) project: your name, email address and profile photo link from Google, when you accepted these terms, your chosen home country, and when you last signed in. For each device you use we also store its platform (iOS or Android), model, operating-system version, app version, language and time zone, and when it was first and last seen. If you allow notifications, we store the push-notification token for that device so we can send you notifications. If you delete your account in Settings, your account is deactivated and you can ask us to erase these records. This information does not include your receipts, line items or purchase history, which stay on your device.
We also use Google Analytics for Firebase to count how the app is used (for example, screens opened and receipts scanned). It is configured without advertising identifiers and without personalised advertising. [placeholder — confirm retention periods and the data-deletion process]
Access to account, device and launch-list information is limited to the BasketPulse owner, through a private administrator dashboard protected by sign-in. We use it to support you, to understand how many people use the app and on which devices, to send service notifications and launch updates, and to keep the service running. Administrator actions that send messages or view personal information are recorded in an activity log. The anonymized trend statistics shown in that dashboard are aggregated across many households and contain no individual's data.
BasketPulse is free and does not run ads or charge a subscription. It is sustained by licensing anonymized, aggregated purchasing trends (for example, "the average price of a dozen eggs in a metro area rose 4% this month") to market research and consumer goods companies. Before any statistic leaves your device, it is aggregated with enough other households that no single person's basket can be identified or reconstructed. We do not sell, license, or share individually identifiable purchase histories, receipt images, or contact information.
BasketPulse is available to households in multiple countries and currencies, and we add region-specific disclosures here as we expand.California residents (CCPA/CPRA): [placeholder — confirm categories of personal information collected, the right to know/delete/opt out of "sale or sharing," and whether aggregated trend licensing counts as a "sale" under CPRA before publishing].India (DPDP Act, 2023): [placeholder — confirm the lawful basis for processing, the Data Principal's rights (access, correction, erasure, grievance redress), and consent-manager obligations before publishing].
